The Settimino a 7 was commissioned by the Soloists of the Orquestra de Cadaqués, sponsored by the Fundació SGAE, and composed during the months of November and December of 2016.
Taking the same formation as Beethoven’s famous Septet Op. 20, and playing on the number seven, the work is structured in seven movements. The first, the third and the sixth have the function of introducing the second, fourth and seventh, respectively. The fifth performs the core role at the center of the composition.
