Divided in three parts, Baklava has a predominant counterpoint texture, always striving for the balanced participation of the instruments so that the thematic material is shared among them while the musical texture is based on the dialog among them. The piece presents a ternary structure with reexposition with two contrasting themes. The first one is of a rhythmic and sensual character, with a clear Arabic influence. The second one, much more lyrical and with less counterpoint, develops a melodic line shared among the three instruments, and it takes advantage of the combination and contrasting richness of the timber of the instruments.
