This piece was written by commission of the General Consulate of the Polonaise Republic of Barcelona to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birth. I have tried to give these three pieces a Chopin-like feel both in their form and texture. The result is the three Nocturnes, of contemplative and expressive character, of medium difficulty and full of a melancholic sweetness, highly idiomatic for the instrument. The work was composed in May of 2010.
