Ernesto Villar i Miralles, a well-rounded and highly respected musician, chose Novelda as his retirement town (in the heart of the Valls del Vinalopó: south of the Valencian Country) early in the 19th century. Following the themes of his last compositions, just a few months before he died, I recovered his material and adapted it. With a thorough knowledge of the instrumentation, the textures and the language used are really attractive in a fresh and elegant pasodoble, very suitable for both concert performances and parades.
