The Suite Laceriva, composed for piano between 1997 and 1998, consists of four stylistic studies dedicated to different composers, emphasizing 20th-century aesthetics. The first piece, “Preludio”, is written in an improvisational style and is structured in binary form. The second, a Sarabande (Zarabanda), explores nocturnal and static sounds in a rubato tempo. The third piece, conceived as a Minuet (Minueto), features a melody that is almost naive in its simplicity, while the fourth, a Gigue (Giga), presents dissonant linear encounters within its fugal writing.
The suite was premiered by pianist Miguel Álvarez-Argudo in June 1998 at the Auditori de Torrent (Valencia) and was later included on the CD Compositors Valencians Segle XX in 2003.
