This composition arose from the creation of music for scenes in the film El Gabinete del Dr. Caligari. This fact greatly influenced the whole approach to the work, not only at the formal and structural levels but also in the use of motifs and harmonies. In this way, the music seeks to evoke the different atmospheres of the scenes.
