Tres cançons per a la Mar (Three songs for Mar), for voice or violin and harp

These three songs for voice or violin and harp are dedicated to one of my twin daughters, the calm, thoughtful, and gentle Mar. As she studies harp at the Conservatory of Terrassa, I had the idea of writing three pieces for her and, by adding lyrics to be sung, I thought they could also be performed with the violin of her sister Júlia, if they felt like it.

The first and the third pieces refer to two figures or characters that Mar is particularly fond of: witches and rabbits. The second piece, on the other hand, playing with my daughter’s name, attempts—through double notes and a certain invitation to calmness—to reflect her rather sweet and tranquil character.
