If someone had told me four years ago that this prologue was going to see the light of day, I probably would have called them crazy. The International Children’s Double Bass Festival (FICI) began with the help of its president, Imer Acuña and the rest of the Board of Directors (Nataly Linares, Angélica Gómez and myself) with the aim of covering the existing deficiencies around the didactics of this instrument in countries around the world, especially in Latin America. Getting small instruments, courses and specialized training in teaching these “short crazy people” as well as works composed by and for this instrument has always been a chimera.

And this is where the FICI has managed to alleviate these deficiencies with great effort. ….
