Tramuntana is a work for violin and piano composed during Fall of 2014 to be premiered at the 2014 New Year’s concert “Homenatge a la Serra de Tramuntana de Mallorca”. The work is dedicated to the violinist Francisco Fullana, who together with the pianist Oscar Caravaca were the interpreters of the premiere.

The declaration of the Serra de Tramuntana as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO was a historical event for Mallorca and the Mallorquians. Thus, the mountain is part of the category of Cultural Landscape and this means that the main elements of it are the results of the efforts to adapt the territory. These elements are basically the stone work and the water management. This human landscape is in itself a work of art.

The Serra de Tramuntana, is surprising because of its singularity: the majesty of the mountains and its ability to take advantage of its scarce resources. Testimony of the settlement of various civilizations, it has an impressive cultural heritage, an open door to dialogue between art and nature. It is not a descriptive work in the sense of imitative or of musical expression of a landscape, but rather, it has an evocative character of the sensations that all these things inspire me
