Piece written in August 2009. It is a fantasy drawn from Father Soler’s Fandango for keyboard, which largely reflects the virtuosity of both the trumpet and the piano. The most notable parameters which vary from the original source are the structural organization, thematic combination, personal use of harmony, abundance of polyrhythms, textural treatment of the characteristic bass ostinato, etc.

A detailed analysis of this work can be found in the book written by Andrés Valero-Castells: The music of F. Soler as an idea in modern composition, published in the collection Compendium Musicae N. 10 of the Institució Alfons el Magnànim (Diputación de Valencia, 2012).

The first recording of this work is included in the CD Contemporary Trumpet (Pr José Lourenço, Portugal, ref. JL1813), recorded by the exceptional trumpeter Ruben Simeó, accompanied on piano by Alejo Amoedo.
