The original version of this piece was written in 2009, for trumpet and piano. The present version was commissioned by the group Saxaes, and premiered by the saxophone quartet Púrpura Pansa, on April 28, 2012 in the auditorium of the Centro Artístico Musical de Foios (Valencia). The CD Unua (ref. LMG-001-2012) which includes the first recording of this versión was presented during that concert,

This fantasy is drawn from Father Soler’s Fandango for keyboard, which largely reflects the virtuosity of both the trumpet and the piano. The most notable parameters which vary from the original source are the structural organization, thematic combination, personal use of harmony, abundance of polyrhythms, textural treatment of the characteristic bass ostinato, etc.

A detailed analysis of this work can be found in the book written by Andrés Valero-Castells: The music of F. Soler as an idea in modern composition, published in the collection Compendium Musicae N. 10 of the Institució Alfons el Magnànim (Diputación de Valencia, 2012).
