This present edition of Quatre Evocacions is a revision of a collection of four pieces for piano that the author composed during the autumn of 1995. The work was awarded with the second prize at the Frederic Mompou Competition organized by Joventuts Musicals of Barcelona and it was performed for the first time by Quim Bonal in August,1998 in the setting of the Peralada Festival (Girona, Spain). At that time the pianist was able to find, with great success and feeling, the poetics appropriate to the aesthetics of this work. Each piece has its own personality, with a fresh and spontaneous character and an improvisatory mood predominating in each of them.
