The title of the work is the Latin translation of “Canticle of the Void”, referring to the ancient Eastern Taoist philosophy collected in the “Tao-Te King” by Lao-Tse. The work is structured in a single movement around a central nucleus in which, as a musical event and connection of the past with the present, the cantiga “Santa Maria amar” is used (attributed to Alfonso X, “the Wise”).
