Canigó is a work with many features in common with another of the works of Fèlix Martínez i Comín, Fra Garí (1963), in terms of the legendary theme and also for the inclusion of the harp with a solo treatment. However, it differs from Fra Garí in that the work does not present a narrative discourse, but an episodic one. The work consists of different pieces: The gathering, The fallaires, The dance of the fairies, The song of the fairies, The storm, Gifted mountains and Hymns to the mother country. All these numbers were choreographed and danced by the Lluís Millet ensemble in the original production, thus illustrating the action presented by the actors and the dramaturgy.
