… why isn’t always life the result of our actions and efforts and expecting?

… why remains hidden to us, the impenetrable mechanism behind life and its incomprehensible happenings?

…is there maybe an unalterable force, a fix fate, an already written story, against which we don’t have any power?

Written in times of the Coronavirus, the content of this brief work for large orchestra connects with those circumstances which caught the attention of the whole world for months, and expresses that situation, as an open question: why?

The existential question. why?

This music is being written to enhance and lighten the meanings of this eternal question, exposed in the works which build the frame of the concert for which this work was commissioned: Beethoven 5th, with its fate significance and obsessive deepness, and music of Wagner, who was looking for answers to this subject in the ancient Asian philosophy, writing essays about, and weaving it in his opera plots and his always overwhelming and powerful music.
