The pieces that I present are adapted for two guitars, respecting to the maximum the harmony and the essence of the arrangements by Miquel Llobet for the Orfeo Lira, such as rasgueado (tremolo), in the case of the Hostal de la Peyra, to imitate the mandolin technique and the lute. As a personal touch I have added a melodic fragment in harmonics in the popular song: L’Anunciació (The Annunciation).

Miquel Llobet Solés (Barcelona, 1878 – 1938), Catalan composer and guitarist of enormous prestige, both in Spain and abroad, especially in South America. He was a great lover of symphonic and piano music, arranging for the guitar works by renowned composers such as F. Mendelssohn, F. Chopin, L. v. Beethoven, I. Albéniz … His passion for the guitar led him to fully concentrate on to composing and performing, and to leave the drawing career, that he had started at a very young age.
