The lack of time imposes limits that often prevent us from really getting to the bottom of things: research is expensive, especially when it comes to time. For this reason, to be honest, I have to describe this book as an approximation, with the hope that it will become a link that someone can take advantage of to go further. Because the character, Antoni Botey i Badia, is worth it. Because the oblivion into which he has been falling, especially in the world of the ill-named classical music, is an open wound that needs to be repaired. And because if we want to have the strength to project ourselves into the future, we cannot afford to underestimate our past or our heritage.
The book presents Botey’s biography in chronological order. This structure has the disadvantage that certain thematic aspects can appear in a fragmented form, but it has the advantage that the reader, as they progress, follows Botey’s timeline, and this helps to better understand his trajectory.
