The Prelude is a musical genre that leaves space for improvisation and spontaneity. It is also an experimental laboratory that allows us to test musical ideas that can be incorporated into our own compositional language. In this set of five preludes I have looked for sonorities based on the harmonic blend of bimodal and polytonal elements and I have tried to maintain, although renewed, the romantic spirit that lets the piano sing and resonate expressively.
