Chronicle of a fire was written in 2004 by commission of the Orquestra de Cordes del Berguedà and its conductor and president Carles Planes, in order to keep alive the memory of the catastrophic fire of the Summer of 1994 in the areas of Berguedà and Bages, and to commemorate its 10th anniversary.
The intention of the composer was to musically reproduce the devastating fire, in a reflexive and experiential piece in one movement without interruption.
