The first two preludes, “Cabalgata bajo la lluvia” (Cavalcade under the rain) and “Nieve en los tulipanes” (Snow in the tulips), are built with a clear impressionist language tarnished in subtle melancholy and ending with “Tango, la Pereda”, of vital presence and movement with marked tonal language. Three pieces for solo piano is a work that represents, through these preludes with varied character and musical content, the heartbreaking solitude of a sad past that slowly recovers its dormant vehemence.
A brief trilogy that ultimately constitutes:
“The incongruous scene of a painful walk hidden behind walls of apparent jubilation.”
