The genesis of the work is related to a project that ultimately would not see the light. It was a poetic group sponsored by a friend and that should have been called “Mediterráneo 9”. The title also makes reference –like Éluard’s quote– to the relationship between tradition (symbolized by the Mediterranean) and modernity (8.5, a term taken from computing and symbol of the premature end of such a group).
