Written during the month of November 2002 on a text by Lluís Mª Xirinacs, La Sardana Universal for children’s choir and piano was composed in response to a commission for the project “Songbridge” of Europa Cantat XV Barcelona 2003, and the SCIC to be celebrated in Barcelona during the Summer of that year. The text highlights the qualities of the Catalonian national dance as a model for universal fraternity and unity among different countries in an equal, respectful and free world.
