I have always adored the poetry of Federico García Lorca.
That mixture of strength and fragile sensitivity caressing his beloved Andalusia, has led me to the desire to share in this suite for chamber orchestra, soprano and baritone, a series of literary fragments (Campana, Camino, Las seis cuerdas, Danza en el huerto de la Petenera and Muerte de la Petenera). It is immersed in a contemporary language about a varied pentatonism, with a simple but widely developed intervals and the alternation of chromaticisms with some ostinato, to thus enhance the rhythmic character that the text requires at certain times. (Esperanza Zubieta Trives)
