In memoriam, for solo oboe, was born from the reading and reflection of the book El hombre en busca de sentido [The man in search of meaning] of the writer and psychiatrist Viktor E. Frankl, in which he narrates his terrible experience as a prisoner in Auschwitz. Therefore, this musical piece becomes an extendable homage to all the victims of the Nazi holocaust. In In Memoriam, the oboe fills a melancholic atmosphere with the sound space in an even hurtful way, which becomes an outcome of peace and reflection on man, in its most existential side.
