Gràcies (Thank you)

With these four pieces I seek to express different emotions that require comprehension by the performer and his/her full commitment in order to be able to transmit them fully.

In … per una mirada (for a look), a constant arpeggio in the style of a harp dominates the texture, which is used as a harmonic base for the melody and is reminiscent of a spell.

In … per un somriure (for a smile), the melodic play with swing is constructed over a rhythm which keeps a regular pulse and constant movement that conveys sympathy.

In … per una tendresa (for tenderness), the melody dominates over an accompanying arpeggio and seeks to be extremely expressive and tender.

And … per una vida (for a lifetime), is a declaration of happiness, like the constant movement of a carousel passing through life which, at every turn it makes, offers its best smile.

Gràcies is my deeply felt gratitude to Mari, my wife. Because I know no better way to express my feelings for her, than to make them everlasting through that creation which comes from the very depths of my heart – my heartfelt music, which she has so often inspired.
