Preludi i Fuga (Prelude and Fugue)

Preludi i Fuga is a work commissioned by the flutist Patricia de No and premiered in the 11th edition of Els Teus Clàssics, event organized by Associació Joan Manén. The work is divided into two parts, a prelude and a fugue, and it contrasts two musical worlds with different character and harmony. The first part is a melodic and sinuous movement with an intimate air in which the flute sweeps almost its entire range, and it is always harmonically accompanied by the piano. The second part is rhythmical and with baroque overtones, in which the two instruments play a counterpoint of constant tension that leads to a return to the initial softness of the piece.

This work is dedicated to the great flutist and friend Patricia de No, always concerned about the music of new creation and that gave me the opportunity to contribute with a new drop in the ocean to the wide flute repertoire.
