The songs by Antoni Parera Fons, and in particular the cycle that encompasses El darrer viatge, are destined to become a classic of the genre. There is certainly something classic in them as they contain universal elements that make them understood by everybody, while also being adaptable and applicable to different contexts. These are songs about pessimistic themes ‐ love and death ‐ but beneath the fog of disappointment, ultimately, they reaffirm, through subtle musical procedures, the value of life – the enthusiasm for life, I would say.
