Cançons de criança (Parenting songs)

This short cycle of five songs in Catalan and Spanish is dedicated to my children Pau, Mar and Júlia, and my ex-wife Sandra. In these compositions I try to transmit part of the experiences that I have lived with them. The first, called “A dormir (To sleep)”, deals with the constant battle we had every day to get them to sleep all night. The second, ” El despertador (The alarm clock)”, speaks of the excitement of the new day, of the daily adventure. In the third, “Hores d’escola (School hours)”, I speak of the importance of school and teachers as a vehicle of knowledge and motivation. In the fourth, “Retrat (Portrait)”, I talk about my oldest son, Pau, who surprises me every day with his questions, his rhetoric and his knowledge about animals. The fifth, “Contando (Counting)”, is about a playful accompaniment. I speak of the passion that Pau has for numbers, which he loves.
