Work composed for the II Competition “Ciutat de Dénia” 2011 (Medium Grade), organized by Agrupació Artística Musical de Dénia. The piece is structured as a theme and four variations. The theme is a very expressive Adagio which leads to the variations. The first variation is an Andante in the low register of the clarinet, with an energetic character, but at the same time humorous. The second variation is a Lento, half the tempo of the main theme, very singing and gentle. The third variation, on the other hand, is an Andantino grazioso, with a comical character. The fourth variation is a Moderato, in which the virtuosity of the performer stands out.
