This particular composition was written intermittently between July and December 1974 at the age 15. It is, thus, one of my first attempts at composition. This explains the delay of almost 40 years before its publication after extensive revision.

Fascinated by the great realist novel by Tolstoy Anna Karenina, I wanted to express in music some of the scenarios described in the novel in ten episodes for piano. In the final title I have chosen to omit the title of the novel as, in all honesty, neither the concept nor the quality of the music reaches the fantastic magnitude of the novel. However, the pieces are quite bold considering that they were written by a young beginner in composition.

As generic features, I would highlight the expressive young ambition, the use of leitmotif, orchestral textures and contrasting characters. In addition, despite using rather primitive resources, the result is an effective communication through very simplistic piano procedures.
